In our nursing home, nestled in the heart of Bundanoon. NSW, Australia, the women significantly outnumber the men. To address this, we've started a special "Men's Group" where our male residents can gather and chat about subjects that interest them. This group meets every two weeks on a Friday at 10:00 AM in our cosy activity room.

The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, filled with laughter and camaraderie. We’ve also invited a small group from the Bundanoon Men’s Shed to join, adding an extra layer of friendship and shared interests. The men eagerly look forward to these meetings, where discussions range from old hobbies and personal anecdotes to current events.

Occasionally, we have a guest speaker from the local community, which brings fresh perspectives and new topics to explore. These sessions are particularly engaging, providing an opportunity for the men to connect with someone new and stimulating their curiosity.

It’s heartwarming to see how much the men enjoy these gatherings. They share stories, laugh heartily, and find joy in each other’s company. This initiative has brought a great sense of belonging and connection to their lives, fostering friendships and creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and heard. The Men’s Group has truly become a highlight for many of our residents.
