Peace in a Noisy World

 •  2   • 308
It's Saturday morning here in Australia, and I’ve just been up for a bit, soaking in the day. There’s something magical about being ahead of the world, already awake and embracing the morning while most others are still lost in sleep. Today’s one of those perfect days, too. The sun’s out, but it’s not one of those scorching days that make you want to hide inside. The sky is a brilliant blue, and there’s a gentle breeze playing with the leaves. It’s another day in paradise, really.

The kangaroos, usually hopping around nearby, have decided to take off somewhere else, probably into the forest where they can relax in the shade. It’s a bit quieter without them, but that’s part of the charm here—never quite knowing when they’ll show up.

My morning routine usually starts with a quick check of world events, and I often find myself scrolling through YouTube to catch up on the news. But it’s a bit disheartening these days. The sheer amount of hatred out there is staggering. I suppose it’s all tied up with the upcoming US elections in November, but still, it’s hard to wrap my head around why people are so angry.

I miss the days when the news was something you could rely on, something you could believe without a second thought. Back when I was young, the news was a trusted source, a window to the world that didn’t feel so distorted. Now, it seems like every channel, every website has its own spin, and finding something that feels genuine is a real challenge. It’s a sad state of affairs when you can’t even trust the news anymore, especially when so much is at stake. But despite it all, there’s a certain peace in starting the day here, in this beautiful corner of the world, far from the noise.
